Sad Lovers & Giants are an English rock band originally from Watford, Hertfordshire, England, which formed in 1980.Their sound blends post-punk, atmospheric keyboards and psychedelia.Director and film maker Marc Waltman, in collaboration with the Opposite Direction Foundation, have spent the past 3 years working with the band to tell their story through interviews, live performances and a specially recorded live soundtrack.
From their formation, Sad Lovers & Giants have followed their own path that has included a John Peel session for the BBC, extensive tours throughout Europe and the USA, where they showcased at the SXSW festival in 2016 and seven studio albums. Their eighth album The Weight of Forgotten Dreams, is due for release early next year followed by a double live album including all the tracks from the film plus out-takes.Opposite Direction Foundation and director Marc Waltman are known for their documentary, WALKING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, a film about the tragic struggle of singer and songwriter Adrian Borland of the Sound, which had its world premiere at the IDFA 2016.
